Real stories from the
Organic Cowboy family

At Organic Cowboy we’ve had the great fortune to work with and get to know many of the dedicated individuals that serve the equine community through rescue organizations. No less important, are those that are involved in the healing of the severely injured and those with disabilities through hippotherapy. As well, there are those that serve disadvantaged and at risk kids through the nurturing environment that equine husbandry is uniquely capable of offering. These are impressive people and organizations and we hope to share their story with you over time.

Serving horse rescue and therapeutic riding centers

From the beginning, we’ve worked steadily with equine non-profits supporting their mission with fly control programs at reduced expense. Over time, it’s our goal to share what we’ve learned about these dedicated people and organizations.

The Old Guard – tradition of honor

The 3d U.S. Infantry, traditionally known as “The Old Guard,” is the oldest active-duty infantry unit in the Army, serving our nation since 1784. The Old Guard is the Army’s official ceremonial unit and escort to the president. The unit received its unique name from Gen. Winfield Scott during a victory parade.

A Conversation With Kevin Meyer

I had the privilege of being be interviewed by Kevin. As a well-known trainer, his wisdom and insights are shared with many equine enthusiasts through clinics and training at Mantz Creek Horses in Douglas, Wyoming. His experiences are translated to everyday life through his podcast “Mornings on Horseback”. I hope you enjoy our conversation and take a listen to his podcasts to gain a deeper appreciation of ranching, the west, or to savor a well-turned story. You’ll find more about Kevin and his wife Annette Coker at mantzcreekhorses.com.
